The Hanowa Moon II stage soundstage extender uses two custom-designed ribbon tweeters with a diaphragm thickness of only 0.004mm (4 micrometers), making it virtually weightless. It features a dual-driver design with front and rear amplification, achieving an efficiency of up to 100dB, and is equipped with independent front and rear linear volume attenuators.

Since the Moon II’s ribbon drivers operate optimally between 10kHz and 40kHz, they can fully compensate for the natural high-frequency attenuation of typical speakers. Therefore, the manufacturer has set five crossover points at 10/12/14/16/20kHz. A second-order 12dB slope is achieved through precise resistor attenuation. While a higher slope reduces coloration in the main speaker, the transition between frequencies can be abrupt. Therefore, the Moon II uses a lower crossover slope for smoother transitions. With five crossover points and multiple volume controls, there are dozens of possible frequency variations, making it compatible with speakers with sensitivities from 86dB to 96dB, covering the vast majority of speaker products on the market.

The Moon II’s crossover is well-equipped, featuring a Japanese Alps six-segment switch (for crossover point switching), a high-precision linear volume attenuator (10dB per segment), and tuning via British ClarityCap capacitors and silver foil capacitors. Internal wiring uses Hanova reference-grade cables, and the solder is silver-containing. Because the Moon II is a dual-driver system (front and rear), the phase switching function has been omitted, allowing for greater placement flexibility. The front ribbon driver can be manually turned off (the rear cannot), facilitating quick and real-time comparison of front and rear differences for audiophiles. ● Type: Super Tweeter
